Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GovLens, operated by GovLens ("we," "us," or "our") at govlens.co. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use GovLens.

1. Service Description

GovLens is a web-based tool that helps small businesses discover and track U.S. federal government contracting opportunities. The service aggregates publicly available contract data from sources such as SAM.gov, matches opportunities to your business profile, and delivers alerts and analytics to help you compete for government contracts.

2. Account Terms

• You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or your organization.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at privacy@govlens.co if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without authorization.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use GovLens to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute our data at scale without written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
• Submit false or misleading information
• Engage in any activity that could harm GovLens or other users

4. Subscription and Payment

GovLens offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at checkout.

• Billing: Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods.
• Free trial: If we offer a free trial, it will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• Price changes: We will give you at least 14 days' notice before changing your subscription price.

5. Intellectual Property

GovLens and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.

Government contract data displayed in GovLens is sourced from public databases and is not owned by us. We make no claim to ownership of that data.

6. Disclaimers

GovLens is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Contract data is complete, accurate, or up to date
• Using GovLens will result in winning contracts or other business outcomes

Contract data is aggregated from public sources and may not reflect real-time availability or accuracy. Always verify opportunities directly on SAM.gov before responding.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GovLens shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, arising from your use of the service or inability to use it — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of GovLens shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GovLens and its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of GovLens after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
